Challenges of using Twitter for marketin

To many Internet marketers, Twitter is used, first and foremost, as a way to generate traffic to their sites by following and having people follow their accounts. The ability to push out a link (to a company’s new product or service) sounds simplistically apt for its purpose. Secondly, Twitter is often seen as a tool that can be used to build up your business’ mailing list. Theoretically, Twitter will allow you to create a profile, invite and build up your list of followers that are interested in your offerings and then using a call-to-action to get them to sign up to your mailing list in return for a particular benefit. Twitter and Facebook are often compared against each other and with regards to advertising; Twitter is still lacking an official ad system where companies can utilize to reach out to potential customers. Follow and be followed by people who are interested in your niche. Like a mailing list, what you should be gunning for are quality leads, not mere quantity. You can have thousands of uninterested followers and they are still not going to buy a single thing from you. The best way to get quality followers is to search and follow people who are interested in terms or keywords that applies to your niche. More often than not, a good 40% of the people you follow will follow you back. Once you’ve built up your followers, start posting quality content that will keep them engaged and build your reputation as an expert in your field. Post quality content A lot of marketers find that posting quality content can be a challenge. But what’s important to know is that not every piece of content needs to be written or created by you. Even if you tweet something that is from a respectable 3rd party source, this is something that your readers will still find valuable. Even the littlest of things like a short but meaningful quote; or a joke that is related to your niche can be very engaging. Don’t forget – Twitter is meant to be “social”. Not everything needs to be perfectly serious. Re-Tweet quality content from authority sites or people A good way to find more content to post is to Google search for some of the top authority blogs or sites in your niche. Find good or interesting content posted and tweet about it! It’s as easy as that.
